WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TODAY TO MOVE YOUR DREAM FORWARD? IF YOU CAN NAME AT LEAST ONE THING, CONGRATULATIONS. IF YOU CAN’T, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
I remember hearing Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church and the author of “The Purpose Driven Life,” say “We are healed to help others. We are blessed to be a blessing. We are saved to serve, not to sit around and wait for heaven.”
Wow!
It’s true. Sitting around and getting caught up in things that don’t move the needle toward your purpose doesn’t benefit you or the people who would benefit from the fulfillment of your purpose in life.
Some are unsure of their purpose, but the answer is fairly simple: Your purpose is that recurring thought you have that simply won’t go away. No matter what happens in your life, you continue to return to that same desire.
Perhaps you want to organize a food pantry to feed those who could benefit, or maybe you want to open a car repair shop or you want to tutor children in your neighborhood. It really doesn’t matter, but one thing is for sure; your purpose is for you and for you only. It is the thing you were born to do.
Habakkuk 2:3 offers this: “For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end, it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it, it will surely come; it will not delay.”
Even during times when things are unclear, draw on your passion to make something happen. One day at a time with a commitment to do at least one thing to move you closer to your purpose will serve you well. Sitting in place will stagnate you. Get busy!
